And the winner of the $10K Ad Grant is…

At Feathr, we believe digital advertising is one of the most powerful tools nonprofits can use to spread their message, engage supporters, and drive real-world impact. But we also know it can feel out of reach, especially during times like these.

On top of all the usual hurdles nonprofits face, this year has been a difficult one so far, with federal funding cuts and growing misinformation about the nonprofit sector’s impact. Many organizations are being forced to make hard choices about where to invest, and marketing and outreach often end up on the chopping block.

We want to help change that.

That’s why we launched an initiative to make digital advertising more accessible to nonprofits — starting with platform discounts for any mission-driven organization affected by funding losses

And to go a step further, we awarded a $10,000 ad grant to one randomly selected nonprofit.  

The recipient? Second Chance Rescue NYC, a remarkable animal rescue organization on the front lines of the shelter crisis.

What a $10K Ad Grant means

The $10,000 ad grant is awarded as media credit within Feathr. Media credit is the budget used to serve ads across digital channels like Google, Facebook, and other web placements. In other words, it’s the money that goes directly into getting your campaigns seen.

And the impact? It can be huge. With just a few hundred dollars, nonprofits can launch targeted campaigns to re-engage past supporters, recruit volunteers, boost donations, and more. With $10K, the possibilities multiply.

Lisa says, “Our mission is urgent and unwavering: to find loving adoptive and foster homes for the dogs in our care, so we can continue opening our doors to others still waiting for a second chance. These funds will help us end the unnecessary suffering of animals. Thank you, Feathr, for helping us be their voice."

The shelter crisis and the role of digital outreach

Animal shelters across the U.S. are still recovering from unprecedented strain in the aftermath of COVID. Rising intakes, overcrowding, and limited space have left many animals with nowhere to go and limited time.

“Right now, shelters across the country are in crisis. They’re overwhelmed by record numbers of owner surrenders and stray intakes. Animals are being housed in crates lining hallways, and heartbreaking decisions are being made every day simply due to lack of space," says Lisa.

Second Chance Rescue has saved over 17,000 lives since 2009. Outreach and visibility — especially through channels like digital advertising — are key to helping them continue this critical work.
